We are looking for an experienced chef for our reputable clients care home, based on the outskirts of Faversham, you will be working along side the Registered Care Manager and managing a small team of four people; to ensure that meals are nutritional, meet the residents dietary requirements and are presented to a good standard.
Key Information:
- A salary of £14.00 to £16.00 ph. (dependant on experience).
- Location Faversham.
- Hours 40 per week.
- A permanent full time contract .
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and supervise all aspects of kitchen control e.g. menus, hygiene, health and safety, staff, cleaning and waste control.
- Order catering consumables from current nominated suppliers in line with company purchasing policy.
- Complete monthly audits for kitchen reporting any finding to home manager
- Prepare menus for the care home taking into account the content, balance, colour and nutritional values, inline with agreed budget.
- Consult with residents on a regular basis to ensure that their needs and choices are being met.
- Prepare special diets for residents as directed by the care staff.
- Maintain the agreed stock levels of food.
- Implement and maintain an agreed deep cleaning schedule for the kitchen.
- Carry out stock takes at the end of each month.
- Implement four weekly kitchen rota.
- Work within agreed budget guidelines on staff costs and consumables and to cooperate in any action necessary so as to keep to budget.
- Assist in the preparation of function menus and costing.
- To co-operate with requests from the Home Manager and residents wherever possible.
- Attend resident/relative meetings whenever possible.
- Carry out staff supervision adhering to home policies.
- Complete all staff personal development reviews.
Desirable Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
- Catering Diploma (City &Guilds/BTEC) Level 2.
- Food safety certificate.
- A Hygiene Certificate.
